About US
How it all started....
It all started when I bought my first horse, Daisy. She was just a 3 year old at the time but she knew the Parelli 7 Games and I didn't. I figured I couldn't have a horse that was smarter than me so I decided I should probably learn a bit about this natural horsemanship stuff too. (Little did I know at the time that Daisy would always be smarter than me!)
Anyway, I got started with just a nylon halter and a short lead line that I already had. I soon realized that things would go so much better if I had the proper equipment. I had never used a rope halter before and I figured rope is rope...what difference could it make what kind I get. I picked up an inexpensive, thick rope halter and some rope to make a 12' lead from a local retailer. Well, that worked ok for a little while.
After a couple of months of learning more and more about natural horsemanship techniques and having some fantastic results I started looking for some better quality rope products. Well, let me tell ya, I almost fell over when I saw the prices!! Holy cow! How do people afford that stuff?!?!
Needless to say I kept looking...and looking...and looking. It took awhile but I found some great quality rope stuff at a more reasonable price and thought others might be interested too. And so, here we are.
Oh yeah, before I forget....I'll admit it, I was so wrong...not all rope is created equal. What a huge difference the quality of rope makes!
And, in case you're wondering...
There are two of us that make everything. The knots are hand-tied and the loops are hand-spliced by my business partner. I don't do that myself. What a mess that would be! I don't think I could do nearly as nice a job so I don't tackle that part of it!
I do however, personally make the "People Stuff" and we both do the decorative braided accents. I, personally, hand-braid the braided reins, motivators, neck ropes and other items under Ima Rein Maker. The braided items were starting to overtake this website so I made a separate site -- see the website at http://imareinmaker.weebly.com/.
We both have a very high standard for a quality product and we won't sell you a product that we wouldn't personally use ourselves.

about the rope
I figured rope is rope...how much difference could there possibly be? Well, I found out pretty quickly that not all rope is created equal. A good quality rope makes a HUGE difference. Try one of our ropes and feel the difference for yourself. Your horse will be glad you did!
We use a double-braided marine grade polyester rope that is designed specifically for use in the equine industry. (Double-braided means it has a braided outer cover and a braided inner core.) It will not mold, rot, or mildew and is unaffected by water. It will not powder or harden with age like some web halters and lines are known to do. With minimal care, under normal working conditions, it will last for years!
It has lots of "feel" and "life" to it so your horse will feel the slightest movement when you send a signal down the rope.
It is fully washable. Just remove any snaps to prevent damage to the inside of your washer, put in an old pillowcase or mesh laundry bag and throw it in the washing machine with like colours. (If it's really dirty you might consider hand washing it in a pail of soapy water first to save your washing machine. Just make sure you rinse it well.) Hang to dry.
Low abrasion polyester produces less friction so is easy on the hands and easy on your horse. Combined with a comfortable weight in the hands it is the perfect choice for all your natural horsemanship techniques or just to use around the barn.
