AB SIDE PULL
Why choose a Side Pull? Here are a few reasons...
~ Do you like the idea of riding without a bit?
~ Would you like to try a bitless bridle?
~ Does your horse fight the bit or doesn't like to take the bit?
~ Does your horse always seem to get his tongue over the bit or does he play with the bit all the time?
~ Do you like riding in your rope halter but would like a better way to attach the reins for better control?
~ Would you like to be able to ride and let your horse graze properly without having to change from bridle to halter?
Then you need to try the AB SIDE PULL!!

I received the following in an email from a customer who has been using the AB Side Pull for a couple of months at this point. This is a direct quote from the email. I've added information in square brackets [ ] for clarification purposes only. Cindy says:
"I am finally getting a minute and wanted to let you know how much I love it [the side pull]. I have tried it on about 5 of our horses and they all love it. Takes a bit to get used to the different feeling...and I admit I was nervous the first time on, but the results have been really good.
My boss was also impressed and I believe has placed an order from you. [Her boss ordered 5!]
I think it has helped my hands to become stiller and not depend on the horse's mouth to balance me. I am sure the horses appreciate it too. I think the biggest thing for me being an older rider was that I was afraid that without the bit the horse would just run away with me. It didn't happen and I have cantered no stirrups with it and even done some small jumps and gymnastics. I am so glad our paths crossed and you introduced me to it.
We will be getting our students to try them over the fall and winter."
A big "Thanks!!" goes to Cindy for taking the time to share her thoughts with us. It just makes my whole day to hear how well people and horses are doing with the AB Side Pull!! :o)

It is a common misconception that the horse will run away with you with no bit in it's mouth. I've run at a full out gallop across an open field (with a few other horses...which, of course, increases the "race" factor!) and never had a feeling of being out of control. (Please be aware that I always prepare properly before I do anything like this. And if I get the feeling like "today is not the day", then I don't go.)

AB Side Pull
AB Side Pull with optional
Braided Reins, Easy Snap Alternatives
The AB Side Pull may look a little funny at first but, I tell ya, there are a pile of folks and their horses that LOVE it!
Rope Halters are great. We love rope halters! Rope halters are great for leading, ground work, and natural horsemanship techniques, or just hanging out with your horse while he's grazing. But, in our opinion, rope halters are not so great for riding. They work ok but could be better. Another customer thought so too and this is how the AB Side Pull came about. She wanted a better way to ride in a rope halter and so, with her help, the AB Side Pull was developed.
Here's what it's all about...
- The AB Side Pull is basically a rope halter with a couple of modifications so reins can be attached properly.
- Rings are attached to the sides of the rope halter. Your reins can be attached here if you wish but we found an even better way.
- We added a chin strap with rings on the ends so that reins can be attached with snaps or with Snap Alternatives. This chin strap stabilizes the whole thing and provides very good control when riding bitless with just a rope halter. The chin strap can be adjusted to provide less or more pressure under the chin when the reins are engaged and can even be removed all together if desired. (If removed, the Reins would then be attached to the upper rings for riding.)
Because the AB Side Pull is a rope halter, there is still a loop on the bottom that you can attach a lead or your reins to which is great for leading from pasture to arena or grazing your horse without having to switch from bridle to halter. This is the best of both worlds!
We hope that we've explained this so that you can understand how it works but please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. This is an item that works really well and should not be overlooked!
